You can learn Danish at CLAVIS' departments in Greve and Roskilde.

Free Danish education
Danish Education is a system that offers free Danish language courses for foreign adults. Each level of Danish Education covers six modules.
Prior to admission we will invite you to a personal interview where we will determine, which Danish Education and module is suitable for you.

Danish Education can be concluded with an official exam: Danish 1, 2 or 3

Duration
You are entitled to three years of Danish courses starting from the day you have the right to sign up for the courses.

Time and place
Danish Education is offered at CLAVIS in Greve and Roskilde. We offer morning, afternoon, evening and weekend classes with attendance 2 or 3 times per week.

Price
Danish Education 1, 2 and 3 are free for foreigners with a Danish CPR-number, who have not yet completed three years of Danish Education.

Danish education 1

Danish 1 is for students who have not learnt to read and write in their native language or are unfamiliar with the Latin alphabet. Students with reading difficulties should also attend Danish 1. The purpose of Danish 1 is to be able to have a conversation in Danish, to have knowledge of the Danish society and to be able to function as a citizen. When sufficient progress has been made the student will proceed to Danish 2.

Danish 1 can be concluded with Danish 1 Examination.

Danish education 2

Danish 2 is for students with a few years of schooling in their native countries, who mainly need to learn to speak and read Danish. The purpose of Danish 2 is to be able to function as an active citizen and to work or study in Denmark.

Danish 2 can be concluded with Danish 2 Examination.

Danish education 3

Danish 3 is for students with a minimum of 12 years of schooling, who possibly speak one or more foreign languages besides the native language. Students of Danish 3 are expected to be relatively quick learners of Danish as a second language. The purpose of Danish 3 is to be able to function as an active citizen, and to work or study a higher education in Denmark.

Danish 3 can be concluded with Danish 3 examination. It is possible to use Danish 3 exam for application for Danish citizenship.

Module 6 of Danish 3 is 'Studieprøven' - the Danish Language Proficiency Test, which is the required language level for higher education in Denmark.
