We are a language school dedicated to promoting intercultural understanding and strengthening social cohesion.
Our mission goes beyond teaching Danish; we also focus on developing the intercultural competencies that are essential for successful coexistence so that everyone can thrive and contribute to the community.
That’s why we are proud to participate in a pilot project and initiative from Roskilde Municipality. Since February 2024, our dedicated teachers have been teaching Ukrainian pensioners Danish in their native language at Sankt Hans in Roskilde.
In addition to language training, we also focus on giving the pensioners insight into the local community so they can confidently navigate both physically and online. This holistic approach, integrating social understanding with language learning, makes us a language school that is much more than Danish!
The whole project runs until January 2025, and we are happy to see the positive response and great engagement from the pensioners:
Oleksandr Usenko, 69 years old, says the following:
“I enjoy the Danish lessons. Our teachers, Natalia and Anna, are both professional and responsible. Thanks to them, we have gained a basic knowledge of the Danish language. We hope to continue our learning. A special thanks to the municipality for organizing the classes.”
Before the summer vacation, the pensioners were visited by Roskilde Municipality, where they played a nice game of Bingo together.
