We offer targeted Danish language training abroad for healthcare professionals before they arrive in Denmark. Experience shows that language preparation prior to arrival provides the best foundation for both the individual employee and the future workplace…
Our language learning approach is based on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), where Danish language learning is combined with authentic healthcare training.
CLIL means that participants learn the language and professional skills simultaneously in a single, integrated process. Instead of learning Danish first and healthcare skills later, both elements are taught together in one cohesive learning experience.
For international candidates entering healthcare roles, this approach is particularly effective because it mirrors real work situations. The dual focus accelerates both language development and vocational competence:
One of our international projects involved teaching nurses in New Delhi over few months, with intensive Danish classes 37 hours per week. The project was a success: ten years later, all participants are still in Denmark, have established families, and hold excellent positions.
“Both Bispebjerg Hospital and Rigshospitalet were very satisfied that the employees already spoke the language upon arrival and did not have to start Danish lessons after arrival.” – Danish teacher from CLAVIS, Danish abroad New Delhi
According to instructors teaching healthcare professionals abroad is a highly successful initiative that should be expanded further.
Corporation with other international partners
In addition to our projects abroad, we have also collaborated on international Erasmus projects with partners in Germany (Iberika Education Group gGmbH), Sweden (SwIdeas AB), Greece (SYNERGASIA ENEGON POLITON) and Italy (CESIE), further strengthening our experience in cross-border healthcare training and language education.
