The purpose of CLAVIS is to help people increase their language proficiency. We contribute to integration and intercultural co-existence – at workplaces, educational institutions and in society in general.
CLAVIS is an independent non-profit teaching company. We have more than 30 years of experience in teaching Danish as a second- and foreign language.
CLAVIS offers a broad range of Danish courses that can be organized according to the needs of the individual participant, company or municipality.
All teachers of CLAVIS hold a university degree or a teacher college degree, as well as a special education in teaching Danish as a second language. We offer a training program to our teachers to make sure that they keep updated with the latest research in order to offer the best teaching possible.

In our experience, it’s more motivating and ensures better learning for our students if our training is based on a thorough analysis of their learning needs. We therefore take an analytical approach to our customers’ needs, starting with a general analysis of the area and group. The general analysis is followed by a needs analysis at the start of the course, as well as a learning plan and learning strategy.
The Danish tradition of taking responsibility for one’s own learning can be difficult for many foreign students to master and understand. That’s why we emphasize teacher-led learning with clear statements of expectations and requirements.
As a private training company, we have the ability to teach all over the country. We are fast and flexible in terms of offers, start-up, times and locations. We can start classes at short notice and we teach during the day, evenings and weekends.
To ensure maximum customer satisfaction, we strive to deliver the right solution every time. This applies to the content of the training, teaching materials, premises, etc. In addition, we continuously evaluate our quality goals to see if our students have any requests and/or suggestions for improvement.
We consider ourselves specialists in second language teaching. We engage in development projects, contribute professional articles and keep up to date with developments in the field through conferences, courses and seminars, books and the web.
All of our teachers have a higher education background (Master of Arts, Master of Business Administration, etc.) and have a degree in Danish as a second language. In addition, all have one or more postgraduate degrees in the field of language and integration. Specialties include bilingual youth, teaching illiterate students, teaching traumatized students, coaching, FVU (preparatory adult education), OBU (dyslexia education), Danish at work, intercultural competencies, etc.

To develop people’s language skills and competencies. A common language and intercultural skills are prerequisites for successful coexistence. Contributing to this development has a positive and notable effect on both human and social life.
