Before you start, you will be invited to an interview to ensure you are placed at the right level and receive instruction tailored to your individual goals and needs. This provides you with the best conditions to learn Danish effectively.
The teachers are highly qualified and specially trained in teaching Danish as a second language, and they continuously update their skills to apply the most effective teaching methods.
Depending on your situation and schedule, we can offer you to learn Danish. at different times and locations. We teach at our schools, at your workplace, or online – morning, day, evening or weekends.

CLAVIS offers online Danish Education courses, specifically designed for adult newcomers who need a flexible way to learn Danish. The courses includes weekly live online lessons with qualified teachers, providing real-time interaction and guidance. You as a student has 24/7 access to an online platform with learning materials, recorded lessons, and interactive exercises, allowing you to study at your own pace.
While the courses are entirely online, module tests and the final Test must be taken in person in one of our language schools. Lessons are available in English and/or in Danish, making the program accessible to a wide range of learners. Our online courses are an ideal way to learn Danish from anywhere while managing work or family commitments.
You can learn Danish at CLAVIS as part of the official Danish education system. The Danish language program is publicly funded and free for all newcomers who meet the requirements. You are entitled to free Danish lessons during your first 5 years in Denmark – within this timeframe, you have 3.5 years to complete the Danish language program. CLAVIS offers courses for both beginners and more advanced learners. The program is structured into Danish education 1, 2, and 3 and consists of 5–6 modules. The program concludes with the official Danish Test, which ensures that you learn Danish in alignment with national requirements. The Danish language program supports lifelong learning and helps you integrate into Danish society. You will receive instruction that enables you to communicate in Danish and thrive in work, education, and everyday life in Denmark.
Mastering the Danish language increases your chances of succeess in your job, in your education and as a citizen of Denmark. Learning the Danish language enables you to make usesful conversations with your colleagues, your fellow students, at the supermarket or conversation with your doctor.
The Danish language program is divided into three programs, DU1, DU2 and DU3, which are in turn divided into 5-6 modules. Each module ends with a test and the last module with a certified Danish test. The first modules focus on oral Danish, so that you quickly learn to make useful conversations. The later modules focus on the written Danish and more advanced spoken Danish.

The Danish Education is free for newcomers, as your municipality is paying. To get free Danish Education your municipality must refer you to the Danish language course which requires that you have a residence permit and permanent, legal residence in Denmark.
If you are no longer entitled to join the Danish Education for free you or your workplace can pay for the lessons. Payment must be made before the course starts. Please contact us for more information.
You can receive free Danish lessons at one of CLAVIS’ premises in Greve, as well as at educational institutions, at your workplace and/or online classes. The lessons can take place in the morning, afternoon, evening and weekends.
Before you start, we invite you to a visitation interview and a test to find out which of the three Danish language programs is right for you and which module you should start with. At the interview, you will also receive all the information you need about the length of the program, module tests, exams etc.

CLAVIS Online is Danish tuition designed for you who wishes to get the best result in the shortest possible time. We offer three different types of online tuitions. CLAVIS Blended, CLAVIS Connect and CLAVIS Global.
If you already speak and write with good Danish, but you want to improve even more, then the Studieprøveholdet is for you. Here you learn to express yourself more nuanced verbally and in writing, and learn to formulate yourself correctly. The study test gives access to most higher education.
International students can receive tuition in Danish. The courses will be an addition to your life as a student. Through these courses, you will also be able to meet other international students from across the campus.
