When I came to Denmark from Romania in 2011, I got a job at hotel Bella Sky as a maid and after only 6 months I was promoted to supervisor. Since October 2014, I have been working in an administrative position as an office assistant.
I am very happy with my work and living in Denmark, so I would like to be good at Danish. In February 2014, I heard that my workplace and a number of other hotels, collectively called “De 5 Stjerner”, had started a collaboration with CLAVIS on FVU Danish for hotel employees, and I immediately signed up for a course.
With the help of CLAVIS’ skilled teachers, I quickly improved my Danish. When you come to class after a long day at work, as I did, it’s very important that the teaching is top-notch. Otherwise, it’s easy to lose interest and faith that you will succeed in becoming proficient in the difficult Danish language. I’ve become really good at Danish grammar, and I’ve also become much better at speaking Danish.
Now I’m so good at Danish that I speak Danish both at work and in my spare time. I read Danish newspapers and follow the Danish news broadcasts, and when I watch a movie on TV, I try to follow the Danish subtitles.
