On July 1st. the Danish Education programme at a public language school became free. This means that you no longer have to pay the user fee of DKK 2,000 per module for Danish lessons.
Free Danish lessons are only offered at language schools that have an agreements with municipalities, and therefor are able to offer the certified official Danish Education programme.

If you choose a public language school instead of a private language school, you can be enrolled at the Danish Education for free. The only thing you have do to is to pay a deposit of DKK 2,000. The full deposit is being reimbursed when you complete the modules with a test within a specified timeframe or when you take the final exam. However, your attendance can also have an impact on the reimbursement of the deposit, but this is the municipality that can make that decision.
Free exam and module tests
If you sign up for Danish courses at a public language school you will, besides free Danish courses, also receive free module tests and free Danish exam. If you on the other hand are a private student, then you have to pay a fee for your exam. In addition, you also don’t know the teacher you are going to the exam with. If you a student at CLAVIS you are going to the exam by the teacher, you already know and are comfortable with.
When you choose free Danish lessons at a public and certified language school you will get moduletest and a certified diploma, which you fx can use for applaying for an Education, to enter the labor market or otherwise have to improve your Danish skills in Denmark.
In order for you to start your free Danish lessons at CLAVIS, you must be entitled to free Danish education. If you have been in Denmark for less than five years and haven’t got any lessons at the Danish Education before, then you are most likely entitled to Danish lessons. You also have to be over the age of 18, lige in Denmark and have a Danish CPR number. You are very welcome to contact us at CLAVIS or your municipality, if you are in doubt about whether you are entitled to receive free Danish courses. We do help with the application to the municipality, so you don’t have to think about it either.
